Philippines — Collaboration will take center stage as the Philippine housing industry responds to changing market conditions, evolving regulations, and shifting homebuyer needs at the 34th National Developers Convention of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA).
Set for September 16–17, 2026, at Marquis Events Place, BGC, Taguig City, Metro Manila, the convention will gather developers, policymakers, financial institutions, and other housing stakeholders to exchange perspectives and identify opportunities for collective action.
With the theme “Elevate: Sustaining Progress through Collaboration and Strategic Housing Innovations,” the convention aims to provide industry participants with timely insights into the forces shaping housing development and the strategies needed to navigate them.
“The housing sector has never operated in a vacuum. Regulations shift, market conditions change, and developers have to keep up. That’s exactly what the convention is for. We come together, we share what we know, and we figure out the next steps as an industry,” said Engr. Francis Richmond Villegas, SHDA Chairman of the Board.
Housing demand continues to develop beyond traditional urban centers as infrastructure improvements create new opportunities in emerging areas. First-time homebuyers and young families are also contributing to demand for economic and affordable housing, particularly in suburban communities and townships.
These developments are taking place alongside an active policy environment. Adjustments such as updated socialized housing price ceilings demonstrate the continued evolution of housing policies in response to current conditions.
For developers, understanding these changes is increasingly important in planning and delivering projects that remain responsive to actual market needs.
