MANILA, PHILIPPINES— Manila is hosting a major showcase of Taiwanese technology, products and business solutions as Taiwan Expo 2026 opens at the SMX Convention Center.
The three-day event brings 125 Taiwanese companies together with Philippine businesses and institutions, covering industries that are increasingly important to how Filipinos work, live and access essential services.
Artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, renewable energy, healthcare, agriculture, food and consumer products are among the sectors represented at the exhibition.
Technology is at the center of the event.
The Smart Tech Pavilion features artificial intelligence of things, AI visual recognition, collaborative robotics, smart security, industrial monitoring and transportation technologies.
The focus comes as the Philippine digital economy continues to grow. It reached P2.74 trillion in 2025, representing 9.8 percent of the country’s GDP and supporting 10.39 million jobs.
For a rapidly developing metropolitan area such as Metro Manila, these technologies are increasingly relevant to the way businesses manage operations, transport, security and services.
The expo also looks beyond technology in the workplace.
The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion presents 50 products from 24 companies across smart technology, healthcare, consumer electronics and lifestyle categories. Smart home products, personal care items and other consumer goods are also being introduced to the Philippine market.
Energy is another major theme.
Taiwanese companies are showcasing batteries, energy management systems and decentralized energy solutions as the Philippines works to expand electricity access and integrate more renewable energy into its power system.
Healthcare solutions are similarly featured through the Smart Medical Pavilion, which brings together medical devices, biotechnology products, regenerative medicine and healthcare services.

Meanwhile, agriculture exhibitors are presenting automation, autonomous farming equipment, livestock environmental controls and food processing technologies.
The event also goes beyond product demonstrations.
The inaugural Taiwan-Japan-Philippines Industrial Cooperation Forum is connecting companies from the three markets to discuss potential cooperation in areas including green energy and smart cities.
The wider objective is to strengthen business and technology ties between Taiwan and the Philippines.
TAITRA Chairman James C. F. Huang highlighted trust as an important foundation of the relationship, while representatives from both sides pointed to opportunities in trade, investment, talent and business cooperation.
Taiwan Expo 2026 continues at SMX Convention Center Manila until September 19.
